The Newman Legacy Program

Temple Professor Edward Newman was a passionate advocate for Jewish life, education, and individuals with disabilities. In his memory, Temple Hillel launched a matching gift campaign that brought together support from the Newman family, community members, university leaders, and board members.

This collective effort established the Newman Legacy Program, a living tribute to Dr. Newman’s values.

The program includes:

• The Newman Library

• “Book of the Year” Initiative

• Annual Lecture Series

Through these initiatives, Dr. Newman’s commitment to learning, inclusion, and community continues to inspire students at Temple Hillel.
